How are NZ real estate commissions calculated?
NZ real estate commission typically uses a tiered structure: a higher percentage on the first $400,000 of the sale price (commonly 3.95%), and a lower percentage on the balance (commonly 2%). An admin fee (around $500) is added, then 15% GST is applied to the total. The commission is then split between the agency and the agent.
How do working days work for settlement conditions?
Working days in NZ real estate exclude weekends, national public holidays (including Matariki), and regional anniversary days. A “10 working day” finance condition means 10 business days, not 10 calendar days. PropertyCalc automatically accounts for all NZ holidays including regional anniversaries.
